Ballad of the Sleepless Night.
Given to the darkness the child is. Weeping, reaching, sreaming for the light. The light does not come, it's reach yielding only whispers to the babe.
Falling, falling and falling the child does, never ending his descent, time losing meaning, the world losing time....
Halted the young one lies, unto a new world, a new life. Never alone the child shall be, for here the sleepers lie. Waiting, watching, dreaming their torment, relishing their conquests.
The sleepers rise, witness the child is to life reborn. Curious, the life does not attack. Closer, closer the monsters come, curious of their own right, the child a new thing, a new toy.
Waking, the child remembers nothing of his old life, Taken, stolen, given to the hive his essence makes them strong. The child gives new life to a most ancient of threat.
Searching, Looking, The parents hunt for the one they love, scouring the cosmos they hope without hope. Joy, the child is found, but the child is no longer the child, he is something more, something worse. Metal and cold, no longer the joy but the dread of one's legacy.
Sorrow, the Parents weep as they witness the child's horrible acts. Madness, it must be madness the parents cry, end the suffering the only choice,
Mercy.......mercy for the babe who's innocence was taken. Ravage the nursery of hate the parents wil. Burn it, burn the shell of the child in his well of suffering, the parents weep as they steal the breath of their young.
Mourning, weeping, tears mired by smiles. The child is gone, but he's left something behind. Glistening, shining, riches to be had from the corspes of the child stealers. Values to be shared with the mourning, the sick, the ones left behind by the stolen.
Rejoice, chants of victory, ballads of prosperity. The children are stolen, but their Kin have freed them from their purgatory. Freed them into the cosmos, and returned with wealth, to ease the pains of a lost child.
Weeping, crying once more, the child shrills into the night. the mother screams "Why, why must this be?"
The father replies "The sleepers will not come without him, For the good of many..."
Darkness, falling, stars unseen to the world. The child looks with wonderment, then reaches out.
Distracted by the blinking lights, the child winces at the feeling of cold metal....
